Twitter helpline and X helpline: there's no number to call, so here's where X answers
There is no Twitter helpline. X publishes no phone number for support, and its Contact us page offers eight form topics instead. Pick the form that matches your problem, send a DM to @Subscriptions if you pay for Premium, and treat any X helpline number you find in an ad or a reply as a likely scam.
Does Twitter have a phone number for support?
No. We read X's Contact us page on 15 October 2026. It says "We can help", asks you to select a topic, and sends every topic to a form. There is no Twitter support phone number on it, no X support phone number in the footer, and no X help center phone number anywhere in the Help Center pages we checked.
That answers the older searches too. A Twitter customer service telephone number existed in the sense that the company had office lines, but those were never a consumer helpline. Since the rename, x.com and twitter.com lead to the same Help Center, and the X helpline people look for is the same set of forms.
So if you want to call Twitter support or call X support, the honest answer is that you can't. Every legitimate route is written: a form, an in-app report, or a direct message to one of X's support accounts.
Where does X answer instead of a Twitter helpline?
The Contact us page groups its forms under eight topics. These are the doors X keeps open, in the order the page lists them:
- Locked and suspended account issues. Next steps for accounts flagged for possible violations, including the appeal.
- Staying safe on X and sensitive content. Harassment, threats, and posts that may break the rules.
- Help with paid features. X Premium, Super Follows and Tips.
- Problems with account access. Logging in, reactivating, deactivating.
- Authenticity on X. Impersonation of a person or brand, platform manipulation, spam.
- Requests from Law Enforcement and Other Government Agencies. Preservation, disclosure (including emergency requests) and content removal.
- Privacy on X. Questions about your data and requests for your X information.
- Help with intellectual property issues. Trademark, copyright and counterfeit goods.
The same page shows the @Support account, which had 6.6 million followers when we looked. It posts notices and fixes. It isn't a phone line, and replying to it won't open a case.
Every Twitter contact number people search for, checked
The searches vary, but they all ask for the same missing thing. Here is what each one turns up, and what to use instead.
| What people search | Does X publish it? | Use this instead |
|---|---|---|
| twitter customer service number, x customer service number | No | The Contact us form for your topic |
| twitter customer support number, x customer support number | No | The same forms; Premium subscribers can DM @Subscriptions |
| twitter support number, x support number, twitter help number | No | help.x.com articles, then a form |
| twitter helpline number, twitter help phone number | No | The Problems with account access forms |
| twitter phone number support, x phone number support | No | The form, with your username and a screenshot |
| twitter contact number, twitter contact numbers, contact twitter number | No | The postal addresses in the Privacy Policy, for formal requests only |
| twitter support line | No | @Support for outage notices |
A plain "twitter phone number" or "x phone number" search mostly finds directories that copy each other. If a page lists a number for X, check whether it links to an X page that shows the same number. None of the ones we saw did.
Can X Premium subscribers call X support?
No, but they get a written channel that free accounts don't. X's About X Premium page says subscribers "receive dedicated support for subscription-specific issues, only". It names managing the subscription, reaching Premium settings, enrolment problems and troubleshooting Premium-only features.
The Premium FAQ, last modified on 12 October 2026, says how to reach it:
- Subscription problems. Send a DM to @Subscriptions. "Support via Direct Message is only available to X Premium subscribers."
- A chatbot may answer first. X warns that it "may provide inaccurate information" and that no refunds are given through it.
- Bought in the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handles refunds and cancellations, not X.
- Verified Organizations. A dedicated help portal inside the verified settings.
- Ads. Advertisers message @AdsSupport.
Paying doesn't change a ban decision. The Premium page says enforcement issues and reports from subscribers "will continue to be handled by existing enforcement teams, under the current review process", and that the X Rules won't apply differently to subscribers.
How to call Twitter customer service about a locked or suspended account?
You can't, and nobody else can do it for you. A suspension is handled through the appeal form under Locked and suspended account issues, and the form works only while you're signed in to the suspended account. A lock clears through the steps X shows at login.
Before you file anything, check whether you're dealing with a ban at all:
- "Something went wrong" or a posting block may be a counter, not a penalty. Which X limit you hit and when it resets explains the clocks.
- Replies or search results that hide you are a reach problem. Run a Twitter shadowban check before writing to X.
- An account you closed yourself comes back with a login. See reactivating an X account inside the 30 days.
- Once you're back, the habits that keep an X account out of trouble cost less than a second appeal.
Write the appeal the way you'd want to read it: your username, what you think triggered the action, and one or two sentences on why it was a mistake. X replies by email. If you'd planned to call X customer service to hurry it along, there's no number to chase it with, and a second appeal on top of the first doesn't move it up the queue.
Is the number in that search ad a real X helpline?
Assume it isn't. When a company has no phone line, the top result for its "helpline" is often someone else's. Fake support numbers turn up in search ads and on copycat directory pages, and fake support accounts reply on X itself. In one investigation, Which? found 37 fake Zara accounts on X answering real customers' complaints to collect their details.
Walk away if someone who says they're X support does any of these:
- asks for the code X just sent you, or your password;
- charges a fee to unban, verify or recover the account;
- wants you to install a screen-sharing or remote-access app;
- calls you first, or replies to your public post with a number.
The same goes for anyone selling a private line to X staff. In September 2025, X's Global Affairs account described middlemen paid to bribe staff into reinstating accounts, and said it was acting against them. A contact like that can't help you, and paying one can cost you the account.
What contact details does X publish?
Postal addresses for privacy matters, and no phone. The X Privacy Policy, effective 15 January 2026, names two data controllers:
- United States and countries outside the EU, EFTA and UK. X Corp., Attn: Privacy Policy Inquiry, 800 W Cesar Chavez St., Austin, TX 78701.
- EU, EFTA States and the United Kingdom. X Internet Unlimited Company, Attn: Data Protection Officer, One Cumberland Place, Fenian Street, Dublin 2, D02 AX07, Ireland.
Those addresses are for formal privacy requests. They won't unlock an account faster than the form. If you were hoping for a contact Twitter phone number or a Twitter phone contact at either office, the policy lists none, and a twitter contact phone you find elsewhere isn't one X has published.
Waiting on X support and worried about your username?
A handle can slip away while an account is locked or closed. X has no phone line to hold it for you, but the rules on usernames are public. Start with an X username lookup, a handle checker that reads X's own answer and a name availability check on X. Lists of X usernames still free show what's left, and what the "unavailable" message means covers names that look free but aren't.
If someone else holds the name, read how to claim a handle on X, asking X for a username nobody uses, getting a username another account holds and whether X deletes inactive accounts. Paying a stranger for it breaks X's rules. The risks are set out in buying an X handle, how handle marketplaces work and X usernames advertised for sale.
Reporting someone else, on X or Instagram, has no phone line either
Many people look for a Twitter contact number because another account is the problem. Reports go through the app and the forms, never a call, and the right page depends on what the account did:
- Someone posing as you. What to file when someone impersonates you.
- Your photo posted without consent. Getting a picture of you taken down.
- Abuse and threats. Reporting harassment on Instagram and X and the blackmail and sextortion report.
- Your brand or your work. Who can file a trademark report, who can file a DMCA takedown and Instagram's legal request routes.
- An account you want gone. What a non-owner can do about someone else's account.
Instagram works the same way: no helpline, just in-app reports and forms. For a single item, see reporting one Instagram post and what gets an account, post or Reel removed. For a person, see reporting someone on Instagram, reporting an Instagram account or page and reporting an Instagram scammer. Before you start, check which Instagram report forms are open, read whether the other person learns it was you, and know how to undo a report sent by mistake.
FAQ
Does Twitter have a phone number for customer service?
No. X publishes no customer service phone number. Its Contact us page at help.x.com/forms lists eight topics, each leading to a form, and Premium subscribers can also send a DM to @Subscriptions.
What is the X support number for a suspended account?
There isn't one. A suspended account appeals through the form under Locked and suspended account issues, signed in to the suspended account. X says enforcement cases from paying subscribers go to the same teams under the same review.
Can I call X support if I pay for Premium?
No. Premium adds support by direct message, not by phone, and only for subscription issues such as billing, enrolment and Premium-only features. If you bought Premium through Apple or Google, refunds and cancellations go to that store.
Is the Twitter helpline number in a Google ad real?
Treat it as a scam. X doesn't publish a support number, so a number in an ad, a reply or a DM comes from someone else. Don't share a login code, pay a fee or install a remote-access app for a caller.
How do I contact a real person at X?
Use a form from the Contact us page; a person or an automated system reviews it and replies by email. Premium subscribers can DM @Subscriptions, though X notes a chatbot may answer first and may be inaccurate.
Does X have a phone number for law enforcement or legal requests?
X routes those through a form topic too: Requests from Law Enforcement and Other Government Agencies, which covers data preservation, disclosure, content removal and emergency requests.
